MEMBANGUN INTERNET SERVER DAN SECURITY NETWORK MENGGUNAKAN LINUX DEBIAN 7.8 (STUDI KASUS PADA SMK/SMA KOTA LHOKSEUMAWE)

ABSTRAK

Ipteks Bagi Masyarakat (IbM) membangun internet server dan security network bertujuan untuk  meningkatkan kemampuan dan pemahaman pihak sekolah untuk membangun server internet yang handal pada sekolah dengan penerapan sistem keamanan jaringan yang memadai. Sehingga mutu layanan internet sekolah dapat berjalan secara optimal. Selama ini layanan jaringan internet sekolah belum berjalan secara maksimal pada sekolah tingkat SMA/SMK di kota Lhokseumawe baik dari sisi infrastruktur  jaringan, penggunaan sistem operasi pada server masih kurang relevan yang berdampak pada masalah keamanan jaringan yang rentan untuk dibobol. Sehingga mengakibatkan jaringan internet sekolah tersebut menjadi lumpuh atau tidak stabil. Mulai tahun 2015 pelaksanaan ujian akhir (UN) sudah dilakukan secara online berbasis ICT bagi sekolah-sekolah yang telah ada fasilitas internet. Oleh sebab itu  dibutuhkan mutu layanan jaringan internet yang baik, stabil, konfigurasi server yang handal dan memadai serta pengelolaan server yang yang baik untuk menjamin pelaksanaan ujian UN berjalan lancar.

Metode penyelesaian permasalahan dimulai dari pembuatan modul pelatihan. Melakukan demonstrasi tentang tatacara dan mekanisme untuk membangun  internet server secara menyeluruh  menggunakan Sistem Operasi Linux Debian server 7.8. Selanjutnya mengimplementasikan langsung yaitu dengan membangun server internet sekolah pada salah satu komputer PC sebagai server/router.

Hasil yang telah dicapai adalah berhasil membangun beberapa server internet sekolah mitra menggunakan Sistem Operasi Linux Debian 7.8. Selain itu juga telah melakukan pembenahan jaringan LAN (Local Area Network) pada sekolah mitra. Tim IbM juga telah membuat modul pelatihan untuk membangun internet server menggunakan sistem operasi linux debian 7.8 bagi pengelola jaringan internet sekolah.

ABSTRACT

So the quality of school internet service may be optimized. During this school internet network service has not run optimally on senior high school / vocational school in Lhokseumawe city both in terms of network infrastructure, the use of the operating system on the server is less relevant impact on network security issues are prone to be cracked. Thus resulting in the school internet network becomes paralyzed or unstable. Starting in 2015 the implementation of final exams (UN) has made online based on ICT for schools that have no internet facilities. Therefore required quality Internet network services are good, stable, reliable server configuration and adequate and good management of the server to ensure the implementation of UN exams run smoothly.

Methods of solving problems starting from the manufacture of the training modules. Demonstrations of procedures and mechanisms to build a thorough internet servers using the Linux operating system Debian 7.8 server. Further implement immediately is to build a school internet server on one PC as a server / router.

The results that have been achieved are successful in establishing some Internet server partner schools using Debian Linux Operating System 7.8. It also has to reform a LAN (Local Area Network) in the partner schools. IbM team has also made training modules to build Internet server using debian linux 7.8 operating system for the management school internet network.
