POTENSI PEMANFAATAN TANAMAN UNTUK PERAWATAN COVID-19: STUDI LITERATUR

Covid-19 merupakan pandemi yang tengah mewabah di seluruh dunia. Berbagai macam perawatan dicoba oleh para ilmuwan dan tenaga kesehatan untuk menanggulangi wabah penyakit ini, termasuk menggunakan bahan dari tanaman. Dalam penelitian ini, studi literatur dilakukan melalui penelusuran laman web untuk mengetahui tanaman yang berpotensi bermanfaat dalam menghadapi Covid-19. Hasil penelusuran literatur ditemukan bahwa TCM (pengobatan tradisional cina) dan ayurveda (pengobatan tradisional India) mendominasi artikel ilmiah dalam topik ini. Ditemukan lebih dari 120 spesies tanaman yang digunakan dalam pengobatan antiviral dan untuk mengobati virus SARS yang mirip dengan keluarga virus penyebab Covid-19. Sebagian dari tanaman tersebut juga merupakan tanaman yang ditemukan di Indonesia. Hal ini membuka kesempatan dalam hal pemanfaatan, budidaya, dan untuk penelitian lanjutan.
